After a Concord playing career in which she excelled

on the field and in the classroom, Katie Cuviello

has taken her talents to the coaching ranks.

Cuviello is the Lady Lions’ Graduate Assistant,

working with head coach Stefani Workman.

In 2009, her senior season on the pitch, Cuviello finished in the top

ten in the WVIAC in assists and points, as Concord went 12-7 while

featuring one of the nation’s most prolific offenses.

Cuviello was instrumental in CU’s run to back-to-back WVIAC Tournament

Championship mathces in 2008 and 2009.

She earned 1st Team All-WVIAC honors her junior and senior seasons,

after being named an Honorable Mention as a freshman and a sophomore.

Cuviello also flourished in the classroom. She was named a Liberty Mutual

Senior Scholar Award winner in March 2010 and was a four-time member of the

WVIAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

The native of Hamilton, Ontario earned her bachelor’s degree – with honors --

in Recreation & Tourism Management from CU in May 2010. She is currently

pursuing a graduate degree in Health Promotion from Concord.

Meet Head Coach Workman

Stefani Workman became Concord's Women's Soccer head coach in June 2010.

A native of Poca, WV, Workman spent the 2008 and 2009 seasons as goalkeepers

coach at West Virginia University. Under Workman’s tutelage, the Mountaineers

recorded 26 shutouts and extended their string of consecutive NCAA Tournament

appearances to ten.

Workman’s main duties at WVU included recruiting, team travel and instructional

camp coordination. She also earned a Masters Degree in Athletic Coaching Education

and taught six hour of class each semester.

Workman the 2005-2007 seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Cincinnati.

With the Bearcats, Workman’s job description included goalkeeper training, video work,

recruiting, team travel and classroom assistance. She also oversaw the Bearcats players’

community service efforts.

Workman has earned her advanced national goalkeeping license, putting her in highest

educational level for goalkeeper coaches. She was recently accepted as Camp Staff coach

in the Region 1 Olympic Development Program in Rhode Island.

She also holds Goalkeeping State, Regional and National Diplomas with the National Soccer

Coaches Association of America and a United States Soccer Federation Youth National “B” License.
She’s trained goalkeepers in the SoccerPlus Camps and has served as the technical trainer

for Metro United of the Ohio Youth Soccer League.

As a player, Workman was the starting goalkeeper in all of her four seasons at

Morehead State (KY). In her senior season, 2004, Workman recorded 80 saves,

was twice named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week and helped the

Eagles reach the OVC tournament.

Workman earned a bachelor’s degree in corporate exercise science from

Morehead State in 2005.

Workman spent much time working with the Kentucky Youth Olympic Development

Program during her collegiate career, and also trained goalkeepers at the 2005

Olympic Development Program Region II Group in Illinois.

In her high school playing career, Workman was a four-year starter at Poca.

She earned a spot on the West Virginia All-State team all four seasons, including

First Team appearances in 1998, 1999 and 2000. The West Virginia Soccer Coaches

Association named Workman as Goalkeeper of the Year in 2000.
She also played club soccer for West Virginia United from 1999-2001.
